Welcome to Thrissur District Police Co-Operative Society.

The Thrissur District Police Co-Operative Society was registered in the Year 1945 and has been functioning since 1946 onwards. The Society solely meant for the welfare of the Police personnel and ministerial staff of Police Department working in Thrissur District.From the humble beginning the society has steadily progressed and became a financially sound institution and also has diversified its activities on various levels.

Now the society has 4892 members. The main source of working capital is the over draft sanctioned by Thrissur Dist. Co, op.bank. Now 100 Crores of rupees overdraft sanctioned by Thrissur Dist Co Op bank. We have Rs.2,67,81,200/- Share in District Co operative Bank. Presently 15 % dividend received from District Co Operative Bank and 5 % interest rebate also received up to the financial year 2015-2016. As per the audit Classification of Co.Op.Dept the society is working in Class I Grade since 2015. Now society is eligible for Class I Special Grade on the basis of overall performance.

A Gas Agency under Bharath Petroleum Corporation had been started since 1997. There are 3520 connections. The members of the society as well as their close relatives are enjoying the benefits of the agency. Gas cylinder supplies once in every month to all Police Circle head Quarters and Police Stations. A frequent checking programme of Gas Stove, Burner etc is being conducted as part of the to the welfare to the members, at free of cost.
Thrissur Police Gas Agency is number one among all other Police Gas Agencies on the basis of performances and selling PG Products i.e., commercial cylinder, Stoves, suraksha tubes, Gas Lighter etc. Several times the Territory Manager, Kochi Territory of Bharath Gas and Sales Manager have appreciated the performance during the occasion of Bharath Gas Distributors’ conferences. A Mediclaim insurance scheme has also introduced by the society by remitting the premium amount by the society and the benefit is extended to the spouse and children of the members of the society. Every members and their family come under this scheme (conditions applicable) and they will get the benefit of an amount of Rs.30, 000/- per year

The society is conducting a function for honoring the children of society members who scored top mark/grade in SSLC & Plus Two and also awarding suitable cash rewards to them. In case of death of a member, society is giving Rs.10,000/-as conciliation from Family welfare fund.As part of the welfare to the members, the society is issues pension book to the members who are retiring from service, free of cost. Savings Bank Account facility has also been started from 01.10.2004 and it helps the members to operate transactions easily.
